Chemical pilling is a procedure for removing the upper horny layer of skin, aimed at correcting various aesthetic problems: age-related changes, photo-aging, pigmentation, dull, dry and atonic skin, acne, post-acne.

By depth of exposure, chemical peels are classified into:

• median
• deep
